TrueShot Legal

Terms & Conditions

These terms explain the rules for using TrueShot as a brand, creator, voter, judge, sponsor, organizer, or visitor. They are written for a Sri Lanka-based photography contest platform and should be read together with each contest brief and our Privacy Policy.

Quick Summary

  • TrueShot is a photography contest and creator portfolio platform for brands, creators, voters, judges, and administrators.
  • Creators keep ownership of their photos, but grant TrueShot and contest organizers the permissions needed to run, promote, judge, display, and archive contests.
  • Brands must publish honest contest briefs, follow Sri Lankan law, fund promised prizes, and respect creator rights.
  • Voters and judges must act fairly, avoid manipulation, and disclose conflicts of interest where relevant.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and disputes may be handled by the courts of Sri Lanka unless another written agreement applies.

01

Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions apply when you access or use TrueShot, including accounts, portfolios, uploads, contests, voting, judging, comments, rankings, downloads, notifications, and related services.

By creating an account, submitting a photo, voting, judging, hosting a contest, sponsoring a prize, or otherwise using TrueShot, you agree to these terms and any contest-specific rules shown on the relevant contest page.

If a contest brief, brand agreement, judge invitation, prize document, or written agreement says something different, that document applies only to that specific contest or service. These terms continue to apply to everything else.

02

Sri Lanka Legal Framework

TrueShot is intended to operate with reference to applicable Sri Lankan law, including laws relating to contracts, electronic communications, privacy and personal data, intellectual property, online safety, computer misuse, consumer protection, payments, tax, and advertising where applicable.

Electronic records, account actions, email notices, uploaded documents, contest submissions, voting activity, and digital confirmations may be treated as valid platform records, subject to applicable Sri Lankan law.

Users are responsible for making sure their activity on TrueShot is lawful in Sri Lanka and in any other country where they access the platform or submit content.

These terms are a platform policy, not legal advice. Brands, sponsors, creators, and judges should get independent legal, tax, or professional advice where a contest, prize, campaign, license, or dispute requires it.

03

Accounts and Eligibility

You must provide accurate account information, keep your login details secure, and promptly update information that becomes incorrect or outdated.

You may not create fake, misleading, duplicate, automated, or impersonation accounts. TrueShot may restrict, suspend, verify, or remove accounts where there is suspected fraud, abuse, vote manipulation, identity misuse, or platform risk.

You must be at least 18 years old to enter binding contest, prize, brand, or judging commitments. If you are younger than the legal age required in your location, you may use TrueShot only with appropriate parent or guardian consent.

TrueShot may request email verification, identity verification, payment evidence, tax details, prize eligibility details, or other information reasonably needed to run contests and protect users.

04

Brand Terms

Brands must have authority to host the contest, use the brand name and assets shown, offer the stated prize, appoint judges, and publish contest rules.

Brands must describe contest requirements clearly, including eligibility, submission theme, judging method, voting method, start and end dates, prize details, permitted content use, commercial usage rights, winner selection, and any additional restrictions.

Brands must not run misleading, unlawful, discriminatory, unsafe, deceptive, or exploitative campaigns. Prize claims, promotional statements, deadlines, judging criteria, and download rights must be accurate and capable of being fulfilled.

Unless a contest brief or written license clearly says otherwise, a brand receives only the rights needed to view submissions, administer the contest, promote the contest and winners, and deliver the prize. Wider commercial use of creator content requires a separate permission or clearly disclosed contest license.

Brands are responsible for sponsor approvals, prize delivery, campaign compliance, taxes or withholdings that apply to the brand, and any claims caused by brand materials, contest rules, or instructions supplied by the brand.

05

Creator Terms

Creators must upload only photos and content they own or have permission to use. You are responsible for model releases, property permissions, location permissions, music or artwork permissions, and any third-party rights connected to your submission.

You keep ownership of your photos. By uploading or submitting content, you grant TrueShot a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, resize, display, publish, promote, judge, rank, moderate, archive, and share that content as needed to operate TrueShot.

When you enter a contest, you also grant the contest organizer, judges, sponsors, and administrators the permissions reasonably needed to review entries, display submissions, promote the contest, announce finalists and winners, deliver prizes, and keep contest records.

You must not upload content that is illegal, stolen, defamatory, hateful, sexually exploitative, privacy-invasive, violent, misleading, AI-mislabeled, or otherwise harmful. You must clearly follow any contest rules on AI-generated, AI-assisted, edited, composite, or manipulated images.

TrueShot may remove, hide, disqualify, or restrict content that appears to breach these terms, violate contest rules, infringe rights, manipulate results, or expose the platform or users to legal or safety risk.

06

Voter Terms

Voters must vote, rate, like, comment, and report in good faith. You may not use bots, scripts, paid voting rings, fake accounts, coercion, vote trading, or coordinated manipulation to influence results.

A vote or rating may be rejected, recalculated, audited, or removed if TrueShot reasonably believes it was fraudulent, automated, abusive, duplicated, conflicted, or inconsistent with contest rules.

Comments and public activity must be respectful and lawful. Do not publish harassment, threats, hate speech, false accusations, private information, spam, impersonation, or content that may breach Sri Lankan online safety or defamation-related rules.

Community voting is one part of the platform experience and may not be final where expert judging, combined scoring, moderation review, eligibility checks, or administrator review applies.

07

Judge Terms

Judges must review entries fairly, independently, and in line with the contest criteria. Scores, notes, shortlists, and decisions should be based on the submitted work and the published judging method.

Judges must disclose any conflict of interest, including a personal, family, employment, financial, brand, agency, or close professional relationship with a creator, sponsor, organizer, or entry.

Judges must keep non-public submissions, scores, review notes, admin screens, payment details, identity details, and winner decisions confidential until TrueShot or the organizer publishes them.

TrueShot may replace a judge, disregard a score, request clarification, or appoint an additional reviewer where there is suspected bias, misconduct, conflict, technical issue, or breach of contest rules.

08

Contests, Results, and Prizes

Contest pages may include specific eligibility rules, themes, deadlines, fees, voting windows, judging methods, prizes, sponsor terms, and winner announcement processes. You must read the contest page before participating.

TrueShot may change contest timing, correct errors, pause voting, extend deadlines, remove entries, cancel a contest, or adjust a result where reasonably necessary because of fraud, technical failure, legal risk, sponsor issue, safety issue, or administrative error.

Winners may be required to complete verification, provide payment or prize delivery information, sign a receipt or release, confirm content rights, and comply with tax or regulatory requirements before a prize is released.

Prize values, currency, bank charges, withholding taxes, transfer delays, exchange rates, and delivery issues may affect what a winner receives. Unless expressly stated, users are responsible for their own tax reporting and professional advice.

09

Payments and Downloads

Where TrueShot supports organizer payments, payment slip uploads, downloads, subscriptions, boosts, prize funding, or paid services, users must provide true and complete payment information.

Payment approval may require manual review. TrueShot may reject, delay, or reverse access if a payment is incomplete, unverifiable, fraudulent, disputed, refunded, charged back, or sent to the wrong account.

Downloaded images, winner assets, or creator materials may be used only within the permissions shown on the platform, contest brief, download agreement, invoice, or separate written license.

10

Privacy and Data

TrueShot handles personal information according to the Privacy Policy. Platform records may include account details, uploads, votes, ratings, comments, judging data, identity verification details, payment evidence, logs, and support communications.

By using TrueShot, you understand that public profile information, uploaded photos, contest entries, comments, votes, rankings, finalists, winners, and related public activity may be displayed on the platform and may be indexed by search engines.

Where Sri Lankan personal data protection requirements apply, TrueShot aims to process personal data fairly, transparently, securely, and for legitimate platform purposes such as account management, contest administration, fraud prevention, support, and compliance.

11

Prohibited Conduct

You may not misuse TrueShot, interfere with security, scrape without permission, overload services, reverse engineer non-public systems, access another account, bypass moderation, or use the platform for unlawful activity.

You may not submit malware, hidden trackers, stolen content, private identity documents of others, non-consensual images, false statements, impersonation, illegal promotions, or material that infringes copyright, trademarks, publicity rights, privacy rights, or other legal rights.

You may not threaten, harass, shame, blackmail, bribe, intimidate, or pressure creators, voters, brands, judges, administrators, or support staff.

12

Enforcement

TrueShot may investigate suspected violations and take action including warnings, content removal, entry disqualification, vote removal, score adjustment, account restrictions, contest suspension, prize hold, access termination, or reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.

TrueShot may preserve platform records and cooperate with lawful requests, legal process, regulators, courts, payment providers, hosting providers, or law enforcement where required or reasonably necessary.

Users may report suspected infringement, abuse, vote manipulation, privacy issues, or contest concerns by contacting support with enough detail to identify the relevant account, photo, contest, vote, comment, or transaction.

13

Disclaimers and Liability

TrueShot is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We aim to operate a reliable platform, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free scoring, permanent storage, specific contest outcomes, prize availability, or commercial success.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TrueShot is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages arising from platform use, contest participation, content removal, account restrictions, third-party services, or user disputes.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Sri Lankan law.

14

Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to conflict of law rules.

Users agree to first contact TrueShot support and make a good-faith effort to resolve disputes informally. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be brought before the courts of Sri Lanka unless a separate written agreement requires another process.

TrueShot may seek urgent injunctive or protective relief where necessary to protect intellectual property, confidential information, platform security, users, contests, prizes, or legal compliance.

15

Changes to Terms

TrueShot may update these terms when the platform, contests, business model, law, or operational practices change. The updated date will show when the latest version took effect.

If a change is material, TrueShot will take reasonable steps to notify users through the platform, email, or another appropriate channel. Continued use of TrueShot after an update means you accept the updated terms.
